| Kyosho EP Caliber 400 XP set the standard for quality and flight stability in the electric heli market, and now the EP Caliber 450V establishes new standards in quality, stability, precision and aggressive 3D flight capability, all from the company that invented electric R/C helicopters nearly 20 years ago.
The EP Caliber 450V features a virtually all-new airframe developed for aggressive, precision 3D flight. The frame itself features 1mm woven carbon fiber side plates with anodized aluminum standoffs. The frame is more rigid and specifically constructed for an electronic mixing system (CCPM). The servos are positioned so the linkages are at 90-degrees to the bellcranks, making linkage set-up and maintenance as easy as possible. The linkages feature a push/pull configuration, which means equal force applied to both sides of the bellcranks, reducing the load and wear of the servos and control inputs, and making response exceptionally quick and crisp. This is the same type of control system originally featured nearly 10 years ago on the flagship Caliber 60 and Caliber 90 competition machines. Another big plus of the 450V is that it can use from 285 to 315mm rotor blades, so standard-size carbon blades will easily fit. The 450V also includes a compound gear reduction, which eliminates the huge spur gear seen on so many other micro helis. The gear reduction minimizes the profile of the airframe, allowing the use of streamlined and scale canopies. The aluminum tail boom is support by a single carbon strut, which is directly underneath the boom. Split landing gear means that just one side of the gear can be replaced in the event of an accident - there's no need to replace all of the landing gear. Additionally, the landing gear struts are symmetrical, so a single strut can be used to replace a broken one in any location.
All new high-performance airframe. Push/pull linkages for precise, aggressive maneuvering capability. Extensive use of woven carbon fiber in the airframe with machined, anodized aluminum standoffs. CCPM (Electronic Mixing System) enabled right out of the box. Milled, anodized aluminum swash plate and center hub. Servos are positioned to ensure linkages are at 90-degrees to the control inputs, making set-up and maintenance much easier. Fits standard-length 285-315mm carbon blades (blades sold separately). Compound gear reduction reduces main gear size for narrower airframe. Modular landing gear struts and skids - one replacement strut and skid can be used to repair any part of the landing gear. |
