| Novak's Sport Motors are Extreme. The newest addition to Novak’s brushless motor family is the EX Sport Brushless Motor Series. The budget-friendly sensored brushless motor series is ideal for R/C enthusiasts who have always wanted to join the brushless revolution, but have resisted.
With Novak’s EX-Series brushless motors, the time has come to painlessly make the step up to brushless and personally experience all of the things said about brushless, but just found hard to believe; things like: incredible power and starting torque, minimal maintenance, and longer runtimes.
SPORT BRUSHLESS MOTOR FEATURES
Novak’s newest motors also sport a new look for a Novak motor and it’s golden. Literally. The EX motors break from Novak’s traditional purple motor sleeve with a new gold one. And while the EX Brushless Motors may be described as “sport” models, they still include all of the great features of a Novak brushless motor like a convenient Solder Tab System for easy wire replacement; Sensor-Based Technology for excellent starting torque, low-speed drivability, and smooth acceleration; Thermal Overload Protection (when used with a Novak brushless ESC) that allows pack after pack to be run without fear of damaging the motor, battery, or ESC; and approximately 20% longer runtimes compared to brushed motors.
A unique feature of all Novak motors is the ability to upgrade or replace various parts. Although deemed a sport model, the EX motors are no exception. Users are able to replace parts like the front end bell/bearing and rear bearing (#5905), as well as the rotor (#5906) if needed, and not simply toss the motor aside. Another option for the user is to upgrade the motor with a motor upgrade kit (#5923) for the pro performance of the SS-Series of motors.
Of its many features, its sensor-based design allows for most of the motor's important benefits, including the following:
No Cogging--Thanks to constantly knowing the rotor position, the motor provides instantaneous throttle response & smooth transitions from neutral to drive. The rotor position knowledge is attained due to the ESC & motor being continuously synchronized via the motor harness.
Smooth & Controlled Low Speed Driveability--Always knowing the rotor angle is key to smooth acceleration without delivering abrupt and uncontrolled bursts of power.
Strong/Consistent Brakes & Starting Torque--Rotor position knowledge results in consistent starts & stops, without hesitation or inconsistent lag times before acceleration or braking--this translates to consistant lap times.
Thermal Protection--Position & temperature sensors inside motor provide unparalleled thermal protection, letting you to run pack after pack without worrying about overheating the motor, ESC, or magnets.
Each motor is factory hand-wound and is put through rigorous testing, including a final dyno test to ensure that each motor meets Novak’s rigid specifications.
XBR Brush/Brushless ESC
Each EX Sport Brushless Motor is available separately, or in a combo system factory-wired with Novak’s new XBR Sport Brushless ESC. Like all Novak brushless systems, the brushless speed control and brushless motor are factory wired and tested together, and are ready to “plug and play” straight out of the box.
ESC COMPATIBILITY
The Extreme Sport Brushless motors are compatible with all Novak brushless ESCs, including:
