This is a JConcepts S2 body for the Team Losi Racing 8IGHT 4.0. JConcepts decided it was high time to turn the page on some design aspects and stylize the TLR 8IGHT 4.0 with a completely new design. The S2 design, originally made popular by the 1/10 scale off-road crowd, had quite a bit of influence over the design In a chat with chief drivers Ryan Maifield and Reno Savoya, the S2 was suddenly born and quickly prepared and debuted in front of a global audience.
Starting a project like this is no small feat, drivers are demanding. Make it cool looking, more radical and it needs to perform just as well as it looks is usually the feedback delivered to the design team during these projects. Set the constraints by allowing the body to clear certain fixed items in the chassis and allow the features to try and take control of the performance. The S2 is perhaps the lowest and most muscular JConcepts body ever produced.
The S2 sports a forward cab, low-profile stance with a channeled roof and rear stabilizing fin. The front of the pods have a deep-pocketed force bar that has been shown to channel som air in a much needed forward position while also providing a more rigid feel to the body. The L.P. side-pods whisk over the electrical and step where necessary, but it's the rear wicker section that improves rear-end grip and tightens up the handling.
The unique engine compartment adds some innovation to the design and the perfect resting place for the engine head. The channeling directs the air just along the engine and cooling head while still maintaining a very structured look. The clear body set includes window templates, decal sheet, and backed by JConcepts customer support and racing team lineage. For a tough and muscular look, all you need is the S2.
