This is a 1:25 scale 1969 Chevy Nova Yenko model from Revell. Yenko Chevrolet was a dealership best known for selling customized muscle cars in the late 1960's, which would be later referred to as Yanko's and be known as the most collectible vehicles from the 1960s. It all started in 1966 when Don Yenko had been impressed enough with the late model Chevrolet Corvair to apply for SCCA approval of the Corvair for racing. They approved the cars with the back seat removed and with an upgraded engine increasing horsepower and torque. A total of 100 1966 Corvairs would be modified, painted white with blue striping, and dubbed the Yenko Stringer.
Yenko would go on to modify hundreds of cars until in 1969 he commission several Chevrolet models with pre-installed L-72 engines, including the third generation Nova model. The end result was the 1969 Nova Yenko Supernova. The Nova Yenko featured a stronger frame and suspension system to house the powerful 427cid (7.0L) V8 engine. Only 37 were known to be produced with an original selling price of $4,000.00. Today, there are only seven Supernovas that are registered and known to exists. Luckily, Revell has made owning one of these elusive classics easy with their highly-detailed 1:25 scale 1969 Chevy Nova Yenko model.
